Places to visit in Munnar

Munnar is a must visit place for the nature lovers and photographers. The hills, rivers, valleys, waterfalls, wildlife and especially the tea gardens of Munnar will steal your heart.

Eravikulam National Park



Eravikulam National Park is over the land of 97 sq km. You should explore this first national park in Kerala which is well-located at the distance of 13 km from hill station of Munnar. The park is home to the endangered species Nilgiri Tahr. The national park has a core area, a buffer area and Rajamali region. The first two areas are not open for the tourists. Rajamali region is open for the tourists. You can see the endangered species Nilgiri Tahr from here. This national park welcomes visitors from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM throughout the week. 3-4 hours of your day are enough to visit Eravikulam National Park.

Anamudi


The altitude of Anamudi peak is 2,695 m (8,842 ft) which makes it the highest peak in the state of Kerala and South India. The flowers of Neelakurinji bloom here once in 12 years and make this place beautiful and alive.
If you are visiting Munnar, then it would be a crime to go back home without visiting the Anamudi peak. From the peak of Anamudi, you can easily get the sight of rivers, valleys, hills, spice gardens, tea estates or gardens, wild animals and plants. Kollukkumallay Tea Estate

Kollukkumallay tea Estate is at the height of 7900 ft and is the highest tea estate in India. If you have an indelible love for tea, you definitely can not afford to miss this place. This tea estate can be accessed by jeep only. A visit to Kollukkumallay Tea Estate will add some adventure to your Munnar trip.
This tea estate dates back to the time of the British. It is one of the most visited places. It’s open on all days of the week except Sunday from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
