Galgibaga Beach

The seasonal nesting and hatching site for the endangered Olive Ridley turtle, Galgibaga beach is generally quite isolated, just except a few Beach shacks selling seafood and drinks. Lying 18 km away from Canacona, southwards of Talpona river estuary, this beach is known to be the cleanest beach of Goa. Crystal clear water, silver glistening sand, along with palm and coconut trees sprinkled all around cast a charm on you. Also, treat your eyes to the lovely scenery and admire the tranquil surrounding.
As the beach is an isolated one and the food options might be limited, thus it is advisable that you carry packed one. The beach is also named as the Turtle Beach as it is one of the three Goan beaches where the state runs a program for olive turtles saving and protection and the northern part of the beach is reserved for the same. If you visit the beach between December and February, you might spot turtle eggs or nests.
